Pets

The same patience at a shorter distance, with a subject who is usually pleased to see you.

The wild ones are in Wildlife, and the reason both galleries exist is at the foot of this page.

A heart for animals

Two humane societies

The camera goes to the animals first, the wild ones out in the field and the ones asleep on somebody’s couch.

The animal’s comfort outranks the photograph, which in practice means distance, quiet and a long wait. It is practice, patience and discipline pointed at something alive.

There is no campaign attached to either one. It is where some of the work goes back.
